Dr Manik Hiranandani is a Physician who trained in internal medicine followed by training in a range of other systems of medicine including acupuncture, osteopathy, nutrition, yoga and iridology. He uses a combination of these techniques to evaluate your health and make a correct diagnosis of the causes of your problems. He then uses a range of techniques to help you heal, find peace of mind and find the happiness, peace & love which lies inside you.

He has practised  yoga for 50 years and Functional medicine for 40 years.  Till recently he ran a hospital in Kerala in South India near the ashram where he was summoned to be close to his guru. Over the years he has  taught yoga to his patients to help them regain their health.

In these unique classes he shares with you  techniques from the  long forgotten science of Gyan Yoga, explaining to you the scientific basis of each asana and how it can help you.

What is Gyan Yoga ?

The Sage Patanjali  in his yoga Sutra on Gyan Yoga described 108,000 yogic asanas, each one appropriate for different people, depending on their age, health problems and requirements for healing. Many of these asanas have been lost over time.  The commonly practiced forms of   yoga, Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Kriya yoga, Kundalini yoga  etc, all use a small number of asanas from Gyan Yoga to achieve specific aims.

Gyan  Yoga  is an ancient, long lost science, which I have now revived to help you understand your body,  help it to heal, calm and control your  mind.  This empowers you to use your body and mind as  tools for your spiritual journey towards self realisation.

Gyan Yoga uses a combination of  Pranayam (breathing techniques),   Asanas (specific movements and postures),  Mudras (finger, hand and foot positions) to help you rectify and channel your energies, and Mantras (chanting) to help you achieve this aim.

How is it different from all other forms of Yoga?

The commonly practiced form of Yoga is Hatha Yoga. The word "Hatha" is derived from the Sanskrit word " Hathya" which means force.   Hatha yoga helps control the body by force  and is widely considered a form of exercise.

"Gyan" means understanding, knowledge & wisdom.

Gyan Yoga is the highest & most powerful form of yoga, which is a valuable tool for those who are on a spiritual journey and seek self realisation. You will feel calmer, relaxed, more peaceful, have more energy & start the understanding and healing of your body. It can help you find peace of mind  on your Spiritual journey, and provide you the tools you need to understand your self and attain unity with the creator.

What can I gain from It?

I personally choose and supervise  those asanas, which are appropriate to help each of you on your journey.

Gyan Yoga  helps you to understand your body and mind,  helping to bring it under your control gently,  with love and without force, so you can use  your body and mind  optimally for your journey in this life. Through the practice of Gyan Yoga you begin to experience and understand yourself.

Gyan yoga is very gentle and very exact,  so it is useful to help people of any age and any condition of health.

If you you learn the proper techniques you will  gain a lot from this training.
