Dr. Manik Hiranandani has practised yoga for 50 years and functional medicine for 45 years. Until recently, he ran a hospital in Kerala, South India, near the ashram where he was summoned to be close to his guru. Over the years, he has taught yoga to his patients to help them regain their health.
In these unique classes, Dr. Manik Hiranandani shares Gyan Yoga techniques, delving into the long-forgotten science and explaining the scientific basis of each asana and how these spiritual yoga practices can benefit you.

This asana, as taught by Dr Manik Hiranandani, opens your breathing at the back of your lungs and is a key component of Gyan Yoga techniques and spiritual yoga practices.

The Sage Patanjali, in his yoga Sutra on Gyan Yoga, described 108,000 yogic asanas, each suited for different individuals based on their age, health issues, and healing needs. Unfortunately, many of these asanas have been lost over time. The prevalent forms of yoga, including Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Kriya Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga, utilize a limited selection of asanas from Gyan Yoga to achieve specific objectives.
Dr. Manik Hiranandani has revived Gyan Yoga, an ancient and long-lost science, to enhance your understanding of your body and aid in healing, calming, and controlling your mind. This practice empowers you to utilize both your body and mind as instruments for your spiritual journey toward self-realization.
Gyan Yoga techniques involve a blend of Pranayam (breathing techniques), asanas (specific movements and postures), Mudras (finger, hand, and foot positions) to channel and rectify energies, along with Mantras (chanting) to support you in achieving these aims through spiritual yoga practices.
The commonly practiced form of Yoga is Hatha Yoga, which derives its name from the Sanskrit word "Hathya," meaning force. Hatha yoga aids in controlling the body through force and is widely regarded as a form of exercise.
"Gyan" signifies understanding, knowledge, and wisdom.
Gyan Yoga, as taught by Dr. Manik Hiranandani, is considered the highest and most powerful form of yoga. It serves as a valuable tool for those on a spiritual journey seeking self-realization. By employing Gyan Yoga techniques, you will experience a sense of calm, relaxation, and peace. You will also gain more energy and begin the understanding and healing of your body. This practice can help you find peace of mind on your spiritual journey and equip you with the tools necessary to understand yourself and attain unity with the creator through spiritual yoga practices.
I personally choose and supervise those asanas that are appropriate to help each of you on your journey. Under the guidance of Dr. Manik Hiranandani, Gyan Yoga techniques enable you to understand your body and mind, helping to gently bring them under your control with love and without force. This way, you can use your body and mind optimally for your journey in this life. Through the practice of Gyan Yoga, you begin to experience and understand yourself more deeply. Gyan Yoga is very gentle and precise, making it beneficial for people of any age and health condition. If you learn the proper Gyan Yoga techniques, you will gain a lot from this training, enhancing your spiritual yoga practices.
